Dear composers – welcome to the new academic year for 2024-25! This year we have many exciting events happening, including concerts of your music (see side bar dates), a visit from Indigenous (xwélmexw) composer/interdisciplinary artist Dylan Robinson, visiting musician and scholar Michael Century (who will talk about Pauline Oliveros’ Expanded Instrument System), and more! In addition, the Sound Studies Institute will be presenting an exhibition of 8-channel sound works by a special curated list of composers from UNPOP, an 8-channel experience of experimental electroacoustic music at the Burning Man festival (TBA). We look forward to an exciting year!
